Hello!

In my first blog post, I would like to give you an insight into my early days as an office management trainee at the Kanne Group. My name is Isabel Schoormann, I’m 20 years old and I’m currently in my first year of training.

The first day at my new training company was a mixture of excitement and nervousness, as is probably the case for every new trainee. We were all given a warm welcome at the Fasson Hotel. We went to one of the conference rooms for introductions, where we were already expected by the management and some colleagues. We were given an informative presentation about the company and a short tour of our new workplace. We then all ate together from the Kannelloni breakfast buffet. Each trainee received a small “school bag” for the start of school, which I was very happy about. It contained everything you could possibly need for a successful start.

My first tasks were in the HR department, where I familiarized myself with typical office tasks. I now work in financial accounting, which I particularly like as I was already very interested in accounting at school. My tasks cover many different areas and are therefore varied, so it never gets boring. The opportunity to take on many tasks myself means you quickly get to know the company’s processes and how you can support them.

My time at the Kanne Group has already been characterized by very positive experiences and memories. One of the biggest challenges was our trainee day, which we were allowed to organize and run on our own. It was exciting to gain an insight into the activities and the associated responsibility, and to see how much planning and collaboration such an event requires.

I am very grateful that we as trainees are trusted to do a lot and that we have the opportunity to learn from such practical experiences.
